Graduate students, as many of you may be aware of, the Board
of Governors (BoG) of Concordia University has increased international students
tuition during a highly controversial meeting this summer. After having failed
to reach quorum in previous meetings, the BoG met by teleconference in order to
vote on this issue. Furthermore, recent rumors stipulate that the University
will be attempting to eliminate the administration fee bursary which helps
Concordia's poorest students afford their school fees, make course packs more
expensive, reducing shuttle bus service, and decreasing TA and RA funding.
Enough is enough. It is time to stop the BoG before they go too far. Concerned
students will be meeting in the GSA house at 6:00pm on Tuesday, September 16th.
PLEASE COME JOIN US. EVERYONE IS WELCOME. Refreshments will
be served.

Your GSA is organizing a great adventurous trip to Quebec
City and Charlevoix. We hope to leave a warm memory for you in this cold
winter.
We leave Montreal from the Hall Building on February 17th at
7:00 am.
The first destination is the Ice Hotel, a unique ice and snow
cathedral. This will be a distinctive and incomparable experience you'll never
forget.
We leave the Ice Hotel at 1:30 pm to visit Quebec City, where
you can have your lunch and visit the city and parliament.
We will leave Quebec City at 5:00 pm to arrive at the Hotel
Bais Saint Paul in Charlevoix around 7:00 PM, where you have the option of
double or quad occupancy. The GSA is pleased to be your host for dinner and
breakfast the next day at the hotel.
When you buy your tickets, please let us know with whom you are
willing to share the room, otherwise it will be random. However, we try our
best to respect gender lines if you are traveling alone.
We will leave the hotel at 8:00 am, February 18th to visit
the most beautiful ski resort in Quebec, Le Massif. If you are not a skiing
fan, you may enjoy visiting the beauty of the nature around. If you want to
learn to ski, simply rent some equipment and practice in the school zone.
Experienced skiers will enjoy our lift and rental package,
going up and down the hill till 3:45 pm. You will have time until 4:30 pm to
pack your luggage and get your coach for coming back to Montreal. We shall
arrive to Montreal at 8:00 pm.
